Hey guys, quick FOTD. Today I decided to do a dark purple and black smokey eye. I did it on my way to class and I think it came out great...just not in the pictures.

The dark purple doesn't look purple at all in my photos, it looks like I have blue on my inner lids. The color is called Londondungeon and it is from the Aromaleigh Rocks! Sonic Cosmetics mineral eyeshadow collection. Check out the site for what it is supposed to look like, but if you are too lazy, here is the description: londondungeon: michievous purple glimmer reflects the depth of black.

I purchased the limited-edition Heidi Collection 2009, Exotic Jewels eye shadow palette a few weeks ago. So I did a look with it. I also attempted false lashes but I think it was an epic fail. Does anyone know of a simple way of applying them? And what glue would everyone recommend.

On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice.

Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials.

We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait!

As usual, I will be updating status.livejournal.org before and after, just in case you are not able to reach our main website during the work.

I have given up on Ebay as I can't make money if I have to spend all the money I sell the books for on postage! So you get lots of books at bargain prices as I don't want them cluttering up my room anymore! Most of them have only been read once, so only have a tiny bit of spine creasing. They are all and every genre, quite a few classics :)

Also a couple of cds, dvs, vinyl, toiletries and some shoe laces :)

I accept paypal, and can only post on Saturdays. All paperbacks are only £2.50, and hardbacks are £3, which includes postage :) If you buy a few I will probably be able to adjust the price downwards!
